Match For Max.

Thu Jan 19, 2017 5:52 pm by Scarf

Just wondering if I could get something going for my newest Friction wrestler.
If anybody finds themselves interested or has any possible ideas for the future don't hesitate to hit me up, I'd be happy to hear from you.

Inconsistent posting

Mon Jan 16, 2017 8:53 pm by RJD

I have stuff coming up in the next couple of weeks and will not be able to post anywhere near as often as usual/before. To be honest this has already been showing it's effects lately but it will do so even more from now on. I'll prioritise my Avalanche match and multi character matches but other than that I'll respond probably once every few days, I'll try not to leave anyone hanging though.

Looking for Friction matches!

Sun Jan 15, 2017 2:07 am by tehbohemian

Hey everybody just posting a notice I have 2 wrestlers that could use some love!

Shinobu just got out of her match and I'm looking for some wins or losses to add to her record, she is a serious fighter and is looking for more straight forward fights, she could be a good match up against other "martial artist" type characters looking for a challenge or she could stand up to a violent heel, anything works.

Sonic is also up for matches, people familiar with Ring Dream or Wrestle Angels should …

Gotta agree with Blue on this one.

What the hell makes Alaska so damn special over every other cold place?

Alaska is boring as shit, it's largest arena only holds 8,000, there's like, nothing worthwhile there except nature and mining companies.

Plus, Alaska is in America, which has hosted the last two Summer Splashes in a row, how about giving a new place a shot, show in story that AFW is branching out and reaching new markets?

Why there is this sudden love fest for Alaska, I don't know, hell, do any AFW characters actually come from Alaska? At least if you did Canada, the Canadian girls would be able to do some "home country" story and still have the same appeal as Canada.

I'm suggesting Denmark. Huge sports arena, new market for AFW, better options for "tourist" RPs (which nobody actually does around PPV's anyway), and still appealing to this odd "Summer Splash is now COLDSPLASH" gimmick that everybody seems to be in love with.

But the whole point is that it has a terrible summer climate. It's like going to the beach when it's raining. We can trade the bikinis for mud boots and lightweight jackets.

I don't think Daa would be very happy if we did anything else, but it doesn't matter very much to me. Far be it from me to be contrarian. cookiemonster

We're an anime fantasy RP. If we want to say that Alaska has a bigger arena, then BOOM, Alaska has a bigger arena. It's not like Tokyo actually has a real AFW arena, and how many bars and stores and gyms and shit have we made up, anyway?

The COLDSPLASH thing was a cute idea, that's all. A flipping of our usual themes for our fourth year of PPVs. Do a cold based Summer PPV, then for Winter we hit the beach and have a bright, hot event. It was just an idea, I really don't see why you're getting so worked up over it.

And besides, Tat already said that it's not happening and we're not going to be in Alaska, so calm down and stop gettin' mad over it. ;P

Yeah I think we're just gonna need a poll to settle things...probably Alaska-less.

I would be fine with doing something else, but I think we're passing up a really cool opportunity to do something we haven't done before. Alaska doesn't really have a terrible summer climate if you're in the Panhandle, which this would be (for comparison, June in Tokyo is about 78 degrees, June in Hawaii 87 degrees, and June in Atlantic City 76 degrees, so we've seen variation before; in Alaska it would be 65 degrees, but temperatures can (and often do) get up into the 70s and even the low 80s). Ultimately, since tourist RPs are virtually nonexistent for PPVs, the primary thing the choice of location affects is what the matches look like in our minds, and what sort of special theme matches could be tied in.

And right now, Alaska has the upper hand on all other candidate sites in both of those categories.

Actually, Canada could be pretty awesome since we have at least a handful of wrestlers who come from that country and it still has the cold climate we're going for. I'm being a little bit selfish with that recommendation, though, because the character that I'm trying to build an actual story around is currently training in that country, and until she's finished, she's more or less cut off from the rest of the AFW, which is keeping her character progression slowed to a crawl.

Caroline Brookes is still in training with Kei at her gym in Canada. View the thread here.

Irene Inger recently lost a match against Jessica Wright, who decided to take Irene prisoner after the fight was over. You can find the fight here, while the post-match fun is here.

With TekRobo's permission, I am assuming control of one of his characters, Sylva Asper. Will work on making some new original ones as well, but I don't have the extra time right now.

Tat hasn't seen the Alaskan Female Wrestling Committee's official application, though. We'll see how things go when he does.

Now, if we don't go with Alaska, I would rather do it somewhere more traditionally warm, so that Alaska could be a candidate for 2016, seeing as how the reason Tat is disqualifying it is that the United States has hosted the last two years.

Nominates Germany for the sake of nominating somewhere.

Although I'm on board for Canada, AKA South Alaska too.

Why do you say that Alaska is the best for "what the matches look like in our minds, and what sort of special theme matches could be tied in."?
