Ya could'v won. If you had kept yer head in the game...

Kendra, the southern beauty, had been sulking over her recent draw against Clyde ever since she left the arena that night. It could have been worse. it was still better than a loss. But it was the way it happened. She slipped, and sent the two of them down to the floor in a heap. Was there really any other way that could have been worse?

Between the two of them, it had been a pretty tough fight. Neither of them gave in, even a little. And it was fun. That was something... right?

Heaving a heavy sigh, Kendra closed the locker she was using, having just just changed into some light clothes for a workout. Adorning a black sports bra and a pair of red jogging shorts, the blonde made her way out of the locker room and down the hall to the gym, carrying a gym bag full of the essentials. As always, she went barefoot. She hated wearing shoes.

Thankfully, the gym, one of the many this place must have, was empty. She wasn't too shocked. It was kind of late, and everyone else must have gone home already. So the quiet was very, very welcome. Wasting no time, Kendra made her way over to one of the many training dummies that were scattered about. Tossing her bag aside, Kendra gave her arms and legs a few light stretches before taking a basic kick boxing stance, then sending one high kick to the head of the dummy. Then another. The echo of her kicks were loud, given the quiet emptiness of the gym. But still, it was nice to not have to worry about being bothered.

Let's try again, Cowboy Empty Re: Let's try again, Cowboy

Times were rough these days.

Clyde had been humiliated and injured in a 3 on 1 handicap match. Was screwed over in the Tension Battle Royale that might have been his only title shot. Got jumped by King and Company for no reason. Got shutdown easily in a fight against Allison with Bonnie alongside him.

None of it compared to losing Mercy. The woman he loved. Now out of his life, this time for good.

And while Clyde knew how to better deal with a big break up since this wasn't his first one, it didn't hurt any less at all. It still hurt. Cut him real deep inside, but he dealt with it as best he could. Buired it, tried to ignore it and keep his mind off her as much as he could. Part of him was thankful they never lived together. It spared him that horrible feeling of waking up and being reminded that your lover being gone wasn't a dream but was as real as can be.

In the end, life goes on. Clyde knew it and he didn't want to forget Mercy, but for now... He didn't want to think too much of her. He'd have to move on sooner or later, he didn't have time to sulk over her.

The gym felt like a natural place to go. Fighting was therapy as much it was a problem solver for Clyde. He stepped into the gym, wearing a tank-top, running shorts and sneakers, with a gym bag on his shoulder, sighing as he strolled in, hardly occupied with a single thing in this boring, droll, dry, place. Save for the blonde that was kicking a dummy.

Clyde blinked and saw Kendra, surprised to see the cowgirl away after quite some time, testing out those strong legs of hers on that poor unfortunate dummy.

He watched her from afar before calmly approaching, hearing her feet smack against the dummy's head with each loud 'THWACK' as Clyde approched her from the side, not saying a word at first as he watched her work.

"....'Ey..."
He said dryly with a forced half smile after a decently long pause.

Kendra, so lost in what she was doing, didn't even hear Clyde as he approached her. She tended to drift off when she was practicing. It was nice to daydream a little, even when she knew she should be focusing. So when he came up to her and gave her soft, barely audible "ey," the cowgirl nearly jumped three feet, letting out a loud "EEP!"

Kendra quickly spun around, nearly losing her footing as she did so, and was met by... Clyde. This was a surprise. Though she wasn't sure if it was going to be a pleasant one. She had no beef with him, but still. Their match had ended unfavorably for both of them. For all she knew, he wanted to settle the score.

"Holy... Ya scared me... Next time, make a lil' noise." Kendra sucked in a deep breath to calm her rapidly beating heart. She really needed to learn to be more aware of her surroundings.

Clyde had a very dry demeanor going on. But it faded a bit when Kendra flipped and squealed all of a sudden, startling Clyde and making his eyes shoot wide open before the cowgirl ultimately turned to face him.

He blinked at her in response before he started to grin at her.

"I thought I did..." He said to Kendra. "Guess I'll just have ta' let you know when I'm comin up on ya, huh?" He teased.

"Well I ain't mean to interrupt yer trainin', I just thought I'd say hi, ya know?"

Kendra's heart was finally starting to settle down after Clyde's "sneak attack." She had to learn to be more aware of what was going on around her so that this didn't happen again. The last thing she needed was to die of a heart attack before she got her first win in the company.

"It's alright... It's my fault fer not payin' attention." Kendra let out a breath and straitened out. She noticed Clydes grin. It was as cute as it was goofy.

"No worries. I like the quiet, but it's nice ta see a friendly face around here. How's yer... Everything? After that match, I figured you'd be as sore as I was."

How was his everything she asked.

"It's..." He opened his mouth to say something a little snarky about how shitty he had felt since the breakup but closed his mouth when he realized she was asking about the fall he took during their match.

"Heh." He laughed a little, recalling how much he enjoyed fighting Kendra. "Well shoot... I WAS prolly just as sore as you! I mean, damn girl you sure now how ta' give a guy a hard time." He said with a grin and wink while rubbing the top of his head.

"We're gon' have ta' do that again sometime, ya know? I didn't care fer the ending..."

Kendra smiled when Clyde complimented her skills. Even though he looked like he wanted to say something else. She wasn't too sure that it would be a good idea to pry though. If he didn't want to say it, he must have had a good reason.

"I take pride in mah skills. A girls gotta prove that she's just as tough as any yall boys around here, don't she?" Kendra said, flexing the muscles in her feminine, yet toned arms.

Then Clyde suggeste that they should have another go at it some time. She really did want to get a real ending to their match. It was so close, so fun. It was such a shame to leave it as a draw just because of a slip. The blonde looked over at the gym ring. Then smiled.

"Well, it may not be official. But how 'bout you and I have ourselves a spar then? It's better than waitin' for a match to come up."

Clyde raised an eyebrow at Kendra and gave her a coy smile as she flexed her toned bicep, her body was certainty impressive, it showcased how hard she probably worked out. And her attitude reminded him a lot of his sister. At least, when she was at her normal self.

"...With arms like that, ya look like you're already provin' it."
Clyde remarked towards Kendra's arms before hearing her suggestion for a spar, surprising him quite a bit.

"Ya that eager ta' try and scissor me again?" He teased while walking over towards the ring.

Kendra blushed a bit. He certainly loved complimenting her. Maybe he was just being a gentleman. Or maybe he was hitting on her. Either way, it was... nice. Not that she wanted to be hit on. It was just nice to know he admired her assets.

Then her blush deepened when he teased her about the scissor hold she had done on him in their match. "Hey, if I wanted to, I coulda broke you in half!" Kendra said, following the cocky cowboy to the ring. "Besides, it's not like you'd have any objection to bein' between mah legs." As Kendra finished her sentence, she immeditaly regretted it. She hadn't meant to make such a crude remark. And with that remark, her blush deepened.

"N-not that I meant anythin' by that!"

Clyde felt weird and wondered just what he was doing. He came here to work out and now he was getting into a spar. But he couldn't say no. He loved wrestling and competing, fighting felt like therapy for him.

Had he seen the hard blushing Kendra had, he would have wondered what he was doing NOW, but the cowboy was too busy walking towards the gym ring to notice before he slipped inside, only to pause about mid way under the ropes when he heard Kendra's odd choice of words.

His eyes were wide and his cheeks flushed as he looked back at Kendra. Now he saw her blush, and the look on his own face matched hers.

"I..." Clyde wanted to say something dirty. It's what he usually did. 'Of course not'. Or 'That an offer?' That was something he'd say!

But he didn't. He froze for a good bit before he stood up finally and looked down at her from the ring.

"Yer Uh...You.... You just threw me off."
He finally admitted through a small laugh. It was true though. He wasn't his normal self and Kendra's words had his tongue tied and his imagination running.
