Mentor: Looking for a Helping Hand

Wed Jul 19, 2017 5:04 pm by Sylvie

Hey AFW,

My girl Suki Mizushima is about to finish her first match. Suki's learning that she's not the strongest girl at the AFW--not by a long shot. In fact, she's below-average, and if her sister Kaida watches these matches at all, she will see Suki destroyed, in humiliating fashion...repeatedly.

Pobre chica! Frankly, Suki is headed into dark, lonely spaces I'm not quite ready for her descend into yet, so I'm looking for a mentor who can catch Miss Mizushima before she falls too far. …

Ryan Knight vs Charlie Haines

Post by Deus001 on Wed Aug 06, 2014 6:59 pm

Standard match won via pinfall or submission.

In the tension locker rooms stood a young man, the leader of tension's United Kingdom Elite. Ryan Knight had gone into hiding after his match with the bitch known as Makoto "Mako" Takeda, and he and his group declared war against the Valkyries. Oh how he so dreamed of snapping her in two, preferably in front of her two fellow bikers.

He had been training hard, much harder than he usually did. And his training was already quite significant, lifting truck tires will do that to a person. And recently he met a nice dude by the name of Charlie Haines, on the rebound from an injury. He had seen the match he had against Armando Rodriguez, impressive stuff to be sure.

"Ah, it's been too long since I had a duel. Now I must see if my training has paid off, and I need to loosen up anyway. I'm certain this will be an enjoyable bout." Ryan said as he checked himself over in his ring attire. The rapier clasped in his hand.

After giving himself one last look over, Ryan began to make his way to the entrance ramp. Of course he was concerned that Mako and her little gang would attempt to crash the party, so he made certain that Lucy and John were somewhere in the audience. Not in obvious sight but easily able to access the ring should they need to.

Sure enough, the theme song of the United Kingdom Elite. [url=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4i1UfqXpvUc:yrh9n2r1]Imperial code[/url:yrh9n2r1] began to play, with Mr Knight stepped out. He received a mixed response as usual, but he paid the people at large no heed. For he was only interested in his upcoming bout, he walked perfectly down the ramp and into the ring.

Ryan then moved over to the far right turnbuckle, the one he usually occupied. There he would stand, with his rapier pointed downward on the mat with both hands held at the top of it. Eagerly awaiting for his opponent.

Re: Ryan Knight vs Charlie Haines

Charlie waited in the back for the sound of Killswitch Engage to play. He hopped in place up and down, happy to be back. Sure he won fight #1, but in his mind he still had a lot to prove to people. He heard the mixed reaction to Ryan from the back... maybe he'd be the crowd favorite? Charlie still felt anxious and excited to be heading out to the ring. He had built up momentum and wanted to keep the ball rolling. Ryan was a big boy, but so was Army. Charlie had defeated people like this before, and he was confident he could do it agian.

As soon as his song hit Charlie ran out in his usual ring attire, running down the ramp. Unlike last time, he heard a loud cheer from the audience as he came out. Anything beat silence, but hearing that people were behind him was very refreshing. As he reached the ring he jumped up onto the apron in one leap, and in another he hopped over the ropes to land inside the ring. He looked over at Ryan who appeared to be waiting confidently. "S'up man?" Charlie said with a nod before he hopped up on the ropes and raised a fist to the air, acknowledging the crowds cheers.

Ryan silently nodded when Charlie greeted him, it seemed he was quite confident of himself. That was good in Ryan's eyes, and he knew Charlie was of good character. It kinda brought the young man back to his indy days a year ago, when he and his Sister toured Asia with their Father and maid. But alas there wasn't much time for daydreaming, Mr Knight had business

"I shall be ready in a moment." Ryan said addressing Charlie, he put his rapier down. A gift from the French government. He then took off the coat and accessories, neatly folding them into a bundle and handing them and the sword to the ref girl. Who would then place the items near the commentary table, the camera zooming in on the sword.

The paragon of Britain would then perform some light stretching and then move to Charlie to shake his hand "I hope to be impressed, best of luck." he would say before moving back to his corner to get himself ready for the match.

"Don't worry, I'll make sure not to disappoint you or anyone in the crowd here." Charlie said as he shook Ryan's hand. Charlie waited in the middle of the ring for Ryan to finish his stretches. He wanted to start, and right now. However, jumping a guy before the match bell wasn't his style.

He wasn't sure if Ryan fought a lot of defensive oriented people, but Charlie continued to wait thinking of how he would go about the match. He did see Ryan's finisher when they met at the gym, and Charlie re-emphasized that it was a move he'd rather not get stuck in. As the bell rang Charlie called out to Ryan. "All right big guy, show me what ya got. You've got a lot of hype to live up to ya know."

Ryan had performed some light stretching before the bell rung, he remembered Charlie saying that he liked to fly. If that was the case he thought about going about this like he did when he faced his Sister, although Charlie was just a bit taller. Mr Knight figured he'd come out fighting, why the hell not?

"Hype? Well I care not for what they think after all, now prepare yourself." Ryan said as the bell rung. easing into his stance. His body tensed yet ready to move.

The match was now underway and Ryan was getting down to business, not cutting any corners Mr Knight would come out rushing. Dashing right towards Charlie in the corner with a shoulder tackle, like a Knight on a steed. If Charlie didn't react fast he'd be a pancake in the corner with Ryan bearing down on him.

Charlie knew Ryan was strong, but he moved very well to boot. Unfortunately, Charlie found this out the hard way as he was powered into the corner! He felt the wind pushed out of his lungs as his larger opponent flattened him against the turnbuckle. His chest and back both felt crushed. Clearly Charlie needed to work on starting off matches on the right foot....

"Ungh... damn." He muttered as he tried to think of a way to break free. With Ryan pressed up against him, Charlie didn't have many options open to him at all at the moment. "Fuck man... gotta see what Ry does here then improvise...." He thought to himself.

Ryan was successful in ramming Charlie right back into the ring post where he started off "The first hit is mine!" he shouted, now he intended to take advantage of the situation. Try and control the pace of the fight, play it his way.

Grabbing hold of Charlie by the left arm and the back of the neck Ryan would spin around once while holding on to Charlie. He hoped to use the momentum to just toss Charlie into the centre of the ring. "Huaaah!" Ryan would yell out as he attempted the move, he expected Charlie to recover by the time he could do anything else though. But that was according to plan for the young man.

Charlie felt himself get thrown to the ground smack dab in the middle of the ring. He got to his feet and tried to get his eyes on Ryan as quickly as he could. The sooner he spotted him, the more time he would have to react to a follow up. "I really don't want this dude building momentum...." Charlie thought to himself as he found his bearings.

Ryan had tossed Charlie into the middle of the ring, not with much class though. It was more like a street brawler tactic, although since his match with Mako Ryan had become a bit more....darker. Granted he still respected the rules and his opponent, but was more willing to use power without form.

Ryan would wait until Charlie got to a respectable height, sizing him up for an attack. And then would attempt to move forward and cut Charlie down with a clothesline, but if he missed Mr Knight would be open for a counter of some sort. "Hruagh!" Ryan would yell out as he charged forward.

Some days there were advantages of being short. One such advantage was that it made ducking clotheslines easier, especially against a taller guy like Ryan. Charlie quickly ducked down and rolled to his side, feeling the wind of Ryan moving by and nearly beheading him. This was just the opening Charlie needed to gain a little bit of momentum.

Charlie quickly moved towards Ryan, jumping into the air and extending his legs in an effort to catch Ryan with a dropkick! Sure it wasn't the most devastating way to get back into the match but right now Charlie had to begin to whittle away at his opponent.
