"What?" Mako slapped her forehead as Vida squirmed out. "Oh, come on, bulllshit! You weren't holding her down hard enough, stop playing around."

Mako's protest were drowned out by the crowd, their cheers reaching a fever pitch when Vida beat the three count. If she hadn't been the one actually doing the damage, Stone would've been cheering along right with them. Vida had a good spirit, and Stone couldn't lie to herself - she wanted her to get up. She wanted to see just how much this mighty little titan could dish out and take. She wanted the underdog to come through and win the day.

But that did not mean she would hold back. Not one bit.

"It never is." She backed off as Vida sat up, only to grab her from behind and lift the tiny Latina to her feet. She gripped tight, pulled her in, and jerked back with a sudden pull, trying to fling her up and over with a classic belly-to-back suplex.

Struggling back to her feet, Vida found her head still reeling as her body recovered from Stone's moonsault, which had left her nearly pancaked against the mat. Despite her quivering legs and swimming head, however, the cheers of the crowd kept Vida on the rise. The mounting support behind her, which had erupted when she'd freed herself from Stone's powerful pin, nearly brought a tear to the rookie's eye, and kept quickly quashed any and all thoughts she might have had about going back down to the mat.

However, Stone didn't seem to be feeling similarly-stirred. “Hnn!” Vida grunted, as Stone's powerful arms hoisted the luchadora the rest of the way to her feet. “No!” Vida cried out, as Stone's powerful arms impacted her tightly, kept her pinned hard against Stone's muscular figure and hoisted the latina off of her feet and into a suplex. Vida's head and shoulders came down hard on the mat, sending blinding pain through the girl's skull and spine.

For a moment, the force of the impact threatened to put the aspiring lucha down for the count. Still clinging to the sounds of those cheers, however, Vida kept her focus, kept herself conscious. Still in Stone's powerful arms, Vida's legs (splayed out gracelessly, dangling in the air above her) kicked wildly. Despite her dire state, after the blow, Vida put every bit of effort into kicking out, and rolling away from her powerful opponent. Hoping to get a little breathing room, Vida's attempted to roll back up to her hands and knees, trying to get enough breath back into her lungs to get her head on straight, and try her best to be ready for whatever her powerful foe was going to be throwing at her, next.

Vida Fenix vs. Stone (w/Mako) - The Fine Art of Fair Play - Page 4 Empty Re: Vida Fenix vs. Stone (w/Mako) - The Fine Art of Fair Play

Now that she had the momentum, Stone was starting to wonder just why this particularly lopsided matchup had been chosen. As near as she could guess, someone was expecting a squash. Stone kept up with Friction fairly often, and she knew it wasn't exactly unheard of for management to throw some fresh young thing to the wolves, put her in the ring against a giant and let the audience go wild while she was picked apart. The AFW was all about entertainment, first and foremost, even if that equated to a bloodbath.

But, if that was the case, Vida was disappointing them. So far. Stone wasn't sure how long she could keep it up, though.

She tried to get the pin on the feisty luchadore, but she was squirming around far too much for it, kicking like crazy and shaking her way free. She was obviously looking for a breather, just a moment to recoup, and it was so obvious that there was no way Stone would let her have it.

She rolled to her feet, jumped up, and tried to come down on Vida with an elbow drop, looking to plant her in the middle of the ring. Tough love.

Vida's body was straining against her tights, her chest rising and falling as she desperately struggled for breath. There was no doubt in her mind that this Stone girl was dangerously powerful. In a fed with more heavily-enforced weight classes, the two probably never would have met, in the ring. However, as she lay there, staring up at the arena lights, Vida found herself glad, for the opportunity.

Despite her obvious advantages, it seemed that Stone wasn't taking it easy, on the rookie. Wasn't lazily leaning back on her size, to win this one, for her. It brought a smile, to Vida's sweat-shined face: despite her size, despite her inexperience, her opponent was taking her seriously! And, from the sound of it, so was the crowd!

The rookie was quickly roused from that, however, when she saw the large, powerful figure of Stone coming crashing down towards her. “Eep,” Vida squeaked, watching that elbow descending from beneath the piercing arena lights. On instinct, the young wrestler pushed through the heavy, pain-induced fog and rolled off to her side. She found herself hating the thought of giving Stone a stinger, with the elbow against the mat; however, the dull ache running through her entire torso, at the moment, reminded her that the alternative was far, far worse.

Vida Fenix vs. Stone (w/Mako) - The Fine Art of Fair Play - Page 4 Empty Re: Vida Fenix vs. Stone (w/Mako) - The Fine Art of Fair Play

Post by acuyra Thu Aug 21, 2014 6:49 am

The nervousness from before was completely gone, now - Stone was into the atmosphere. She'd wanted a real taste of wrestling, a pure match, and that was exactly what she got. True, she wasn't exactly popular with the crowd, but they were just white noise. It was easy to ignore them. She felt free, she felt alive. She was having fun. She couldn't even remember the last time she had fun.

Of course, landing on your elbow is the sort of thing that takes the fun right out of any experience, and Stone learned this the hard way. Vida was nothing if not determined, so determined that she had enough energy to roll out of the way of Stone's elbow drop at just the right moment. So, for one painful fration of a second, about 200 pounds of weight was focused on a part of the human body that was never meant to take that sort of pressure for any amount of time.

Stone's yelp was lost as the crowd cheered. How Vida reacted to their approval, Stone couldn't even guess. The pain in her arm had her far more occupied, as she rolled to the side and rubbed her sore bones, cradling her elbow and suppressing hisses under her breath.

Meanwhile Mako made her way over to where Vida had rolled, poking her head in under the bottom rope. She spoke in a whisper, just for Vida to hear and no one else. "You are not going to win this match, here me?" She glared at the Mexican piece of shit her fellow Valkyrie was having far too much trouble with. "Just give up, let her pin you. It'll make this a hell of a lot easier on your end, believe that."

Vida Fenix vs. Stone (w/Mako) - The Fine Art of Fair Play - Page 4 Empty Re: Vida Fenix vs. Stone (w/Mako) - The Fine Art of Fair Play

When she managed to get clear of her opponent's unstoppable elbow, Vida rolled back up onto a knee. She could hear the loud cheer of the crowd rising, as Stone made contact with hard bone against the mat. She was having a hard time really enjoying it, however, watching the powerful woman writhing in pain. A necessary measure, Vida told herself, trying to focus how it would have hurt to simply eat that strike. The way she was feeling, it would lkely have come close to finishing her.

Pulling her attention away from Stone, however, was that nasty blue-haired woman at ringside. Vida wouldn't want to admit it, but the taunting and mockery was getting under her skin. It wasn't hard to see the disadvantage that Vida had, and Stone had already more than demonstrated that she was capable of putting the luchadora away. But the insistence of this woman, that Vida should just lie down and accept the pin? The insult, the insinuation that Vida would even consider such a thing, got her blood boiling. Unable to even speak, all Vida could do was return the glare, before sticking her tongue out in (admittedly childish) frustration.

Pushing back her anger, Vida squared her shoulders, got up to her feet and took a short charge at Stone's downed body. Jumping into the air, Vida attempted a standing moonsault. Vida rose high above her opponent, flipping mid-air, to come crashing down towards Stone's prone torso. The move pulled and strained at Vida's aching back muscles, but the pain would be more than worth it, to show everyone in this arena - particularly that blue-haired witch - that Vida Fenix was not about to give up!

Mako balked at Vida's little taunt, folding her arms and standing back. Stone was starting to get sweet on the girl, holding back because she was so cute. The big blonde always had a soft spot for the little ones, and now she was going to let that screw her up and make the whole gang look bad. Fuck.

She ducked down as Vida moved away, lifting up the apron and fumbling around to see what toys were available. If this kept up, she might have to take the direct approach. Besides, this bitch was just begging for a blunt object to her forehead.

Stone was dimly aware of something going on behind her back, but getting her arm right was her main focus at the moment. She rolled over to her back and started to sit up, but the brief flash of a shadow above her told Stone that wasn't happening. She had half a second to react before Vida's body came crashing down across her chest. Not nearly enough time.

Stone was laid flat on the mat once again, crying out as the Latina landed and set off a bomb in her ribcage. It was all Stone could do to push her off and try to roll away, hoping for just a moment to recoup.

Vida Fenix vs. Stone (w/Mako) - The Fine Art of Fair Play - Page 4 Empty Re: Vida Fenix vs. Stone (w/Mako) - The Fine Art of Fair Play

Losing herself in the sensation of sailing through the air, Vida had completely lost track of the woman at ringside, and anything she might be doing. But the teenage lucha hoped she was still watching, as Vida came crashing down onto Stone. It was a perfect landing, but certainly didn't feel that way; Vida's own bruised torso smarted like hell, crashing against the muscular Stone, but she had to figure that her opponent had gotten the worse, of the exchange.

Vida rolled away as Stone pushed her off. Taking a moment to massage the pain out of her chest, Vida considered relenting, a moment. Stone's outcry had actually frightened the luchadora. God knows she wasn't here to really hurt anyone! However, unlike her friend down at ringside, Vida realized Stone had wanted to see her at her best. To hold back now would be insulting. Not just to Stone, but to Vida, as well.

Scouting the direction that Stone was rolling, the luchadora went once again to the ropes. This time, she hopped onto the second one, planting her boots just enough for balance, as she sank her body weight against them. Springing off, Vida took to the air yet again, twisting at her shoulder in a corskscrew senton, aimed square for Stone's prone body. Wrapping her arms protectively around herself, Vida's body shone in the arena lights, her short hair whipping wildly with beads of sweat whipping off of her. The rookie was pushing herself to her limits, tonight, pulling out every lucha libre trick in her book and pushing her body past what she thought it capable of. But, if that was what it meant to get an edge over her worthy opponent, to possibly pull out her first AFW win, it was more than worth it. Vida came spiraling down towards Stone, the entire world around her a blur.

Vida Fenix vs. Stone (w/Mako) - The Fine Art of Fair Play - Page 4 Empty Re: Vida Fenix vs. Stone (w/Mako) - The Fine Art of Fair Play

Post by acuyra Thu Aug 21, 2014 7:10 pm

Stone had always been impressed with the high-flying style. Not only was it effective, but luchadores were always a pleasure to watch, and the moves looked downright fun to do. That was one of the main reasons she tried to incorporate those moves into her style when she started her wrestling training. So far as she knew, there weren't any wrestlers her size that bothered with that sort of thing, so she figured it gave her an effective edge against unwary opponents.

And it did, if this match was any indication. But she was starting to learn that her element of surprise could only get her so far.

Her chest felt like she'd taken some of the hardest blows in her life. Maybe she had. She certainly couldn't remember a time where this much weight had been dropped on her, time and time again. Vida was playing it smart, hitting her with attack after attack after attack, wearing her away by chunks. Stone was still in the fight, but two or more good hits and she'd be ready for a three count.

"Come on, come on." She tried to push up, managed to almost get up to a sit, but Vida's back came down hard and battered her chest once again, hitting harder than any of the times before. Stone gasped and rolled away, flopping about on the mat until she stopped with her face down and her arms furiously rubbing her chest. Something felt out of place, had she...

Yup. The crazy little thing broke a rib. "Jesus..." Stone chuckled through her groaning, shaking her head. What was it her pastor used to say? Matthew 7:7 - Ask and ye shall receive.

Vida Fenix vs. Stone (w/Mako) - The Fine Art of Fair Play - Page 4 Empty Re: Vida Fenix vs. Stone (w/Mako) - The Fine Art of Fair Play

Post by Lunchador Mon Aug 25, 2014 3:05 am

After the impact, Vida's entire world was more than a bit rocked. Coming down as hard as she had onto Stone's toned body was certainly better than hitting the mat, but it wasn't quite a picnic. The rookie's head was swimming a bit in a mixture of dull pain and adrenaline, but as she recovered from delivering the blow, she was aware of just two things: crowd support was swelling behind her, and it seemed she had Stone on the ropes.

Willing herself back to her feet, Vida glanced down at her opponent. Stone seemed to be nursing her chest, and it nearly made the youthful latina relent. She wondered if she'd gone too far, been hitting too hard. Shaking her head, Vida tried to push those doubts from her mind. Stone was tough, and Vida was convinced that this powerful woman was more than able to take anything the rookie could throw at her. To relent now wouldn't just be foolish, she told herself, but downright disrespectful to an opponent who had given as much as Stone had, in this match.

As the powerful Stone seemed to lay back and tend to her wounds, Vida took a few wide steps back. Bending at the knees, the aspiring luchadora waited for Stone to rise a bit, towards a seated position. If she could manage that, Vida would break into a full sprint, intending to aim a shining wizard directly at Stone's face. Speed and tenacity had served the rookie well, thus far, and she hoped they'd continue to do so. Vida could feel her heart pounding in her chest, all the way up to her ears, as she hoped to close in on her first victory.
