Road Rage

Devine was a smart woman, but in combat she had a way of underestimating her opponents - fighting was still a relatively new thing for her. Mako had been born into it and Stone had been trained in it, but she was picking it up as she went along. They tried to ween her into it, but some things just needed a hard lesson before they sank in. Like this.

John's helmet cracked her in the knee and sent her staggering back, grasping her leg as she winced - it wouldn't keep her away forever, but it would do the trick for now. It was just the sort of thing that Stone was expecting, though, and she moved in before he could turn his focus back her way. Instead of cracking him in the head with the bat, she swung it at the helmet, looking to bat it away and neutralize his last real weapon, then jerked around and shot the butt of the bat into his chin.

Mako watched it all with rolling eyes. "Please." She sat her helmet down and walked towards him, tightening up her gloves as she walked. "If using an advantage makes you a coward, then this whole planet is full of them. That supposed to faze me?"

One down, for the moment. All he needed to do was get them weakened long enough for him to escape and get a lead. The helmet cracked into her knee, sending her away, but Stone took advantage and smashed the helmet out his hand, cracking the visor to bits as he flew off.

He quickly tried to get a fist up to protect himself, but it was too late. It felt like taking a rifflebutt to the face, the bat made his teath clack and dazed him. He staggered back, trying to get some distance, just barley avoiding falling.

“Fuck off.” John was too dazed to come up with a comeback this time, so he just cursed in Makoâ€s general direction. Batt-girl had his full attention.

"Eloquent little fuck, aren't you?" Mako kept her slow walk up as John staggered away from Stone's blow -fortunately, she wasn't too interested in following up, not feeling the need to crack his skull wide open. She brought the bat up and held it on her shoulder, rolling her neck around and getting out a few kinks as she stared back at John.

"Word of advice." She gave a small glance behind him, a little warning. "When you go down, stay down. It'll make thing easier, sergeant."

Devine moved in from behind and jumped on his back, reaching out with both her arms and her legs to squeeze him at the neck and the waist. At the same time, Mako rushed forward and came at him with a quick one-two for his stomach, swinging her fists like a woman possessed, just a tiny blur of furious motion.

John rolled his eyes, a his next words dripping with sarcasm. “Yeah, thatâ€s happening, troop.” Why had John done that? Troop? One usually uses that to address another soldier.

Before he could do anything ellse that was weird, Devine was on his back, jumping on him and using a version of his own finisher, choking him and scissoring him hard. His eyes went wide as he gasped for air, his opponent crushing him…only for Maki to slam his gut twice. He let out a gag, stumbling, trying to suck in air.

He had to get Devine off of her. With a heave, he suddenly launched himself back, trying to slam Devine onto the ground hard, his full weight crushing her. Once down heâ€d try to bunch his legs up, ready to kick anyone who got near him, making himself smaller and ready to spring out a strike at anyone.

Devine realized how bad an idea jumping onto the back of 200 lbs soldier was somewhere between the time he started fall and the point where she hit the ground. She opened her mouth for a silent scream, her body arched with the pain,'flopping about on the cold ground."Son of a bitch, gonna pay for that, fucking swear-"

Stone's patience for this was starting to wear thin. It was two on one now - still good odds, but it was looking less and less like they could do this without going overboard. The man just kept pushing it, refusing to stay down. Not that she was surprised. Just irritated.

As he balled up and started kicking out, Mako got in close. It seemed like a dumb idea, especially when she took a kick in the gut and nearly got knocked off her feet, but the method was clear when she grabbed hold of the ankle, holding on for dear life."Enough of this shit. Bust him."

Stone nodded and kicked him in the kneecap, stomping on it hard. As close to an act of mercy that he'd get - she could have used the bat.

John REEEEAAAALY should have stayed down. The smart thing would have been to give up. But, then again, he DID manage to get one of them out of the fight. John kicked his leg out, slamming Mako in the gut, but soon he let out a roar of anger as his leg was caught, then a howl of primal rage as his kneecap was smashed down!

His eyes wide, he bent up his body, electrified from the pain of the stomp, and tried to randomly kick out his good leg, still refusing to go down without mounting a vigorous fight. He wasnâ€t going to surrender. Loose, yes. Surrender, no.

Mako backed off, avoiding the leg like it was a live wire. She had to admire solider boy's tenacity - most guys would be begging, right now. He was still holding on.

They'd get to that point eventually, though. Not today. But eventually.

Stone held him down, pressing her boot into the knee while Mako circled around."Stubborn." She jumped up and came down on his chest with her knees pointing down. She didn't even know what to call the move, but she imagined it would hurt.

John shouted again, his shouts echoing in the empty lot, as Stone crushed down on his knee, hurting it worse and worse. His other leg kept flailing, until suddenly Mako leapt up and jumped on his chest, her knees slamming into him like two hammers, taking the wind out of him and making him curl up, just trying to grab Mako and shove her away weakly.

"What's wrong, big guy?" She slapped his hands away and gave him a harsh punch in the face, snapping his head against the concrete with surprising power. "Don't like having a girl on top? Would've thought a bitch like you would be used to it."

She started to pummel him as Stone stepped off and backed away to help Devine get up, hammering blow after blow into John's face with furious vigor. She was a small thing, but mean, like her blows had pure hate behind them. She timed them well, making sure they hit far enough apart that the pain didn't blend together, making sure he felt all that she had to give.

John would have some sarcastic remark if he wasnâ€t so busy being beaten up so badly on the ground. He brought his fist up, swinging a punch or two at her. He didnâ€t even know if he connected, because her blows dazed him so much he switched to defense. He tried to get his forearms up to protect his face, but he was so winded that she got past his guard and began to pummel him over and over again.

Each shot felt like a weight smashing into him, she was good. She spread them out, making him remember the pain as she split his lip open. A few more hits, and his left nostril was pouring blood. After that, his right eye started to swell. He looked like he had just gone through a bare fisted boxing match, and she wasnâ€t even slowing down.
