[FWC] Semi Finals Canada Vs. Croatia

The first round of the tournament had not gone at all like Nikolette had expected. What she had hoped for was a tough match to test her abilities and prepare her for the next phase in achieving her goals. However, what she got was, instead, a battle of wits between an opponent who was both a stranger and someone familiar. An intriguing encounter between the heiress of the Primol energy group and wannabe wrestler.

The two exchanged blows but when Nikolette proved to be superior inside the squared circle, Gwendolyn countered with a nigh well-conceived plan. The blonde's scheme nearly cost Nikolette the victory but in the end, she persevered and caame away on top. Perhaps she even came away with something more. However, she had to banish those thoughts for now.

She was facing a girl from Canada who, as a rookie, had already faced off against some top competition. Even though she failed to defeat the brutal Iron Maiden and former champs Taylor Parker and Akashi Tanikaze, the Silver Ace was starting out her fledgeling career with a pretty tough trial by fire. Nikolette wondered what she might have learned through those fights and what the engineer could do to surprise the wily newcomer.

She slapped the hands of those who held them out and basked in the cheers she received. She had a name enough that she received a decent amount of applause and she liked it. Nikolette slid under the bottom rope and hopped up, shifting to her corner where she hopped on the balls of her feet. She was excited. One more round and she'd be in the finals at Summer Splash. She just hoped that she was able to face down Kelly. Hopefully the blonde wouldn't get taken out before then.

But as she stretched, she focused on the entrance ramp. She wasn't going to make the mistake of looking past Ace, that was for sure. Nikolette had a mission and the longer it continued, the more reasons that seemed to keep piling on to why she couldn't afford to let herself down.

To say that this had been a bad week, was a massive understatement. It started with Ace's first tournament match, where that fucking psycho bitch Jocelyn had gotten herself DQed with a cheap shot right at the start of the match, followed by taking full advantage of the defenseless Ace by delivering a beat down so bad unto Ace that she had to be saved by her girlfriend/mentor Valley Doll, the attack also cracking Ace's ribs, which had little to no actual recovery time, since she was immediately put into a match with another crazy bitch, Jade Hawk, who spent the entire match targeting Ace's ribs before getting DQed herself.

On top of that, she had fans talking shit about her online, even starting a petition to have Jocelyn allowed to continue in the tournament, since Ace couldn't even touch her in their "match". She even had actual Canadian officials, visiting Japan to watch the Friction World Cup, call her, trying to convince her to drop out of the tournament so they could bring in another Canadian girl into the tournament, wanting to replace her with the recently returned Cassie, further pissing off Ace, as it was the third time she had been compared in a highly negative way to a girl she had only met once.

To top it off, the crowd was still showing no appreciation for the talented rookie as she made her way down to the ring, some showing a lack of interest, while others outright booed, having clearly enjoyed Ace getting beaten up by Jocelyn. Dressed in an alternate version of her normal attire, her normal long shirt/skirt custom outfit stopping at her stomach, her ribs being now heavily taped up preventing her from wearing her standard outfit, her silver spandex shorts, stockings, and boots completing her outfit as she went up the steps and entered the ring, lightly pacing back and forth as she glared over in Nikolette's direction. She had no idea who this girl was, and had no idea if she was another crazy bitch like most of the people she had met so far, or a perfectly nice girl interested in a fair match.

Either way, it didn't matter, Ace had no desire to be nice and conversational, her sole intentions to beat this girl down, win this match, and move on to the finals at Summer Splash.

Nikolette watched as Ace came down the ramp. She carefully scrutinized her as she made her way tot he ring. She'd seen the match, of course. Jocelyn was another dirty player that needed a good beat down. Maybe if Taylor didn't have "dibs" on her too, Nikolette could give it to her. However, the engineer WAS surprised that the audience was not very receptive to Ace. In her own estimation, Nikolette thought Ace could be the stiffest competition in the tournament aside from Kelly. She certainly didn't seem to be an unprincipled woman in the ring, either. Though Nikolette couldn't actually fathom it, she couldn't concern herself with it now.

However, she COULD notice that Ace was wearing a different outfit. She raised her eyebrow curiously as Ace got into the ring. Nikolette stepped forward and offered her a hand. "I'm lookin forward to this match up. hopefully it'll be a good one!" She said, smiling eagerly at Ace.

Ace raised her own eyebrow as Nikolette offered her hand, looking the girl over before slowly raising her own hand and shaking Nikolette's hand respectfully. The girl certainly seemed nice enough, though it was obvious Ace was distrustful after her recent experiences.

"...Likewise....no offense...I'm a little cautious for....well, obvious reasons."

She said, her red eyes watching the engineer just in case she did try anything.

"Saw your last match...you handled that girl pretty well. You beat the current champ, Angel, at one point too, right?"

Ace asked, cocking her head a little, honestly curious to see if she had remembered the brief bit she had read about her opponent was correct. If it was, then a win over her could make Ace look more legitimate as a fighter, something her past few matches had failed to do for her.

Nikolette firmly shook Ace's hand and then stepped back. She smiled at Ace and nodded. "I did ok. Maybe I shoulda done better." Nikolette said and shrugged. "And I 've lost ta Angel too." She added. "Part a the reason I'm even IN this tournament." She said.

Once the pleasantries were out of the way, Nikolette crouched in her corner and waited for the bell to ring. Once it clanged, Nikolette circled and raised her hands, throwing herself forward to try and lock up with the silver haired girl.

Ace locked up with Nikolette, pushing against her, trying to step forward and move her back. Her mind was racing, trying to come up with ideas. She needed to end this match quickly if she was going to have any chance. Ace had become known over the past few months due to her surprising endurance and tenacity, but after the brutal squash by Akashi, the hard hitting fight with Valley, and back to back matches against crazy bitches with busted ribs, all within the same month, with little to no recuperation period, Ace's endurance was at its limit.

"...Heh....I won't...make this easy...for you..."

Nikolette, on the other hand, was actually feeling good. Her match with Gwendolyn was quite invigorating, really. She was riding a good high. As of late, she'd been winning her matches and feeling pretty darn good about her place in the company. There was also the drive to beat Kelly and then pursue Angel.

She met Ace's force with her own as she bent her knees and tried to push Ace back instead, feeling the silver haired girl's arms pressing against her shoulders as their heads pressed together.

"Good... I didn't come here fer easy!"

Nikolette said as she bent her knees lower and tried to shove Ace backwards.

Either positive energy was overcoming negative energy, or the engineer was damn strong, shoving Ace hard enough that it broke their lock up, Ace hitting the mat and rolling backwards onto her front, pushing herself up with one arm as the other pressed against her taped sides.

"S...Son of a....."

She cursed to herself, pushing herself back up to her feet.

"Ok....your really strong.....I can work around that..."

She said aloud, getting her arms up and slowly starting to circle around Nikolette.

nikolette was surprised when she managed to not only budge Ace but completely shove her tot he ground. The way that Ace was pushing int he clinch, she had figured all she was going to get was a simple budge. Maybe push her back tot he ropes. Instead, Ace was on the ground, rolling in pain.

Nikolette wasn't going to look a gift horse in the mouth though. As Ace rolled around and tried to recover, Nikolette lifted up her heavy boot and tried to shove it hard into Ace's midsection.
